CBA’s Landscape Character Assessment and Landscape Sensitivity Study provided evidence for a new local plan, will inform key decision making and become a useful source of evidence.

CBA was commissioned by Richmondshire District Council to undertake a Landscape Character Assessment and Landscape Sensitivity Study of the District outside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park to provide evidence for informing the emerging new Local Plan to 2025.  In addition to supporting decision-making on the selection of sites to be allocated for development around key settlements, such as Richmond and Catterick Garrison, the Study will also inform the identification of areas, characteristics and features of the landscape that are desirable to protect through appropriate planning policies in the new Local Plan.  The Study will not only inform decision-making by the Council, but will also be a useful source of evidence for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, local communities and other stakeholders.
