Transforming Cranford Park
Working closely in liaison with the Cranford Park Friends group and other stakeholders, CBA is developing proposals for helping the Park reach its full visitor potential
CBA was commissioned by the London Borough of Hillingdon to develop proposals for the regeneration and enhancement of Cranford Park. Formerly the seat of the Berkeley family, the 58 hectare Park is the surviving remains of a country estate easily accessed from the M4 motorway in Hillingdon. Cranford Park offers visitors opportunities to explore attractive parkland, woodland and wildflower meadows, and the wetlands along the River Crane that flows through the park.
Working closely in liaison with the Cranford Park Friends group and other stakeholders, CBA is developing proposals for helping the Park reach its full visitor potential. Supported by a development grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery, the project aims to restore the formal landscape to its former glory, incorporating features such as the old ha-ha, ice house and walled garden. Biodiversity will be improved with the grazing of cattle and the establishing of a new wetland area. The proposals also include essential repairs and conversion of the listed 18th century stable block to provide display space and meeting rooms, and the rebuilding of a former wing to provide a new visitor cafe and toilets.
