Northstowe Healthy Living Strategy collects LI Award
The Strategy was highly commended by the judges for 'breaking new ground in showing how landscape can contribute to creating a heathy new town'.
We are thrilled that our innovative Healthy Living Strategy for Northstowe was recognised at the 2018 Landscape Institute Awards. The Strategy was highly commended by the judges for 'breaking new ground in showing how landscape can contribute to creating a heathy new town'. The judges also said: 'Visually engaging and well-researched, [the Strategy] offers imaginative yet practical and cost-effective solutions for incorporating healthy living into built environment design.'
Northstowe is one of the NHS England's 'Healthy New Towns', which aim to help shape the health and wellbeing of new communities by radically rethinking how we live and can improve health through design of the built environment.
Prepared on behalf of Homes England by CBA, in collaboration with Catherine Max Consulting, Rethinking Childhood and Tibbalds Planning & Design, the Healthy Living Strategy illustrates measures for how Northstowe Phase 2 will be designed to encourage active lifestyles, independence and wellbeing.
The Award was received on behalf of the team by CBA's Adrienne Soudain and Dean Harris from Homes England.
