The Royal Horticultural Society, the UK's leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening, is creating the new RHS Garden Bridgewater in Greater Manchester.  This will be the fifth RHS Garden alongside Wisley in Surrey, Rosemoor in Devon, Hyde Hall in Essex and Harlow Carr in North Yorkshire.  The RHS is reviving the gardens of the historic 156 acre Worsley New Hall estate to create a stunning new 62 hectare garden near Salford.  The vision for RHS Garden Bridgewater is to create a world-class garden that enriches Salford's communities and their environment.  The first phase is set to open to the public in 2020.

RHS Programme Director Anna da Silva said: "This is such an exciting project for Salford and the wider North West.  It's the first time in more than a hundred years that the RHS has taken on a garden project of this size. It will be an amazing resource for generations to come."
